Longtime running coach Mark McGarity dies of cancer

“He just had a way of making people feel good about themselves,” said Chris Black, who coached and taught with McGarity at Lely for 18 years. “He would bring out that inner strength they didn’t know they had. His love of coaching, love of teaching — when you talked to him you believed what he said because he was so passionate.”
